The fabulously popular Disney movie comes to life in a special one-hour performance for children.
DREXEL HILL, PA— (June 28, 2019) – Upper Darby Summer Stage opens its 44thseason of outstanding theater for children with the Disney blockbuster, Disney’s High School Musical, Jr.,playing July 10, 11 and 12 at 10:30 am and July 11 at 7:30 pm. Performances are at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center, 601 N. Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA, minutes from the Main Line and Center City.Tickets range from $9 to $13 and are available online anytime at summerstage.udfoundation.org. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 4 pm. Tickets may also be purchased by calling 610-622-1189. The show is recommended for ages 4 and up with no intermission.
Disney’s High School Musical, Jr.is a one-hour adaptation of the record-setting Disney movie musical that swept the nation in 2006. With all of the hit songs like “All in This Together,” “Bop to the Top,” “Get’cha Head in the Game,” and “Start of Something New,” this Summer Stage musical follows the developing romance of Zach and Gabriella while drama queen Sharpay tries to sabotage auditions for the school musical. Exciting dances and songs feature the Cheerleaders, the Braniacs, the Jocks, the Band Kids and many more.
Summer Stage veteran Devon Sinclair of Philadelphia directs and choreographs a talented cast of over 90 high school students as they sing, dance and lead their audience into the exciting world of East High. Anthony Flamminio of Drexel Hill plays Troy Bolton and Gianna Mattero of Springfield performs as his girlfriend, Gabriella Montez. Noel Guidetti of Havertown portrays the conniving Sharpay Evans and Thomas Barnes of Havertown is her nerdy brother, Ryan. The production of Disney’s High School Musical, Jr. is sponsored by Jamie Santora.
A Summer Stage show is a magical experience for children and their families. Audience members are invited to arrive early for a special craft activity before the show and to meet the characters and sign autographs after the show.
